கந்தர் அனுபூதி – பாடல் 19 நாள் 19
உதியா மரியா உணரா மறவா
விதிமால் அறியா விமலன் புதல்வா!
அதிகா! அநகா! அபயா! அமரா!
பதிகா! வலசூர! பயங்கரனே!
வேதாந்த்: அபூர்வா, இன்னைக்கு பாட்டு முழுக்க முழுக்க ‘அட்ஜெக்டிவ்ஸ்’ (Adjectives) தான். முருகனை எப்படி எல்லாம் கூப்பிடலாம்னு அருணகிரிநாதர் ஒரு பெரிய லிஸ்ட்டே போடுறாரு. இது வெறும் பெயர்கள் இல்ல, ஒவ்வொன்னும் ஒரு பெரிய தத்துவம்!
அபூர்வா: ஆமா வேதாந்த், இது ஏதோ ஒரு ‘ஆக்ஷன்’ படத்தோட பிஜிஎம் (BGM) மாதிரி இருக்கு! “பயங்கரனே” அப்படின்னு முடியுதே? முருகன் ஏன் பயங்கரமானவர்? அவர் அழகா மயில் மேல வர்றவர் தானே?
வேதாந்த்: (சிரிக்கிறான்) அவருக்கு பயங்கரமானவர்னு பேரு, ஆனா யாருக்குத் தெரியுமா? நம்ம மனசுல இருக்குற பயத்துக்கும், தீய சக்திகளுக்கும் தான் அவர் பயங்கரன்! முதல்ல அவரை எப்படி வர்ணிக்கிறாரு பாரு… “உதியா மரியா”. அவருக்கு பிறப்பும் இல்ல (உதித்தல்), இறப்பும் இல்ல (மரித்தல்).
அபூர்வா: பிறப்பும் இல்ல, இறப்பும் இல்லையா? அப்படின்னா அவர் காலத்துக்கும் (Time) அப்பால இருக்கிறவர்னு சொல்றியா?
வேதாந்த்: கரெக்ட்! அவர் “உணரா மறவா” – அதாவது எதையும் புதுசா தெரிஞ்சுக்க வேண்டிய அவசியமும் அவருக்கு இல்ல, எதையும் மறக்கிற ஆளும் அவர் இல்ல. பிரம்மாவுக்கும் (விதி), விஷ்ணுவுக்கும் (மால்) கூட எட்டாத அந்த விமலன் (சிவன்) உடைய புதல்வன் அவர்!
அபூர்வா: வாவ்! அந்த வரிசையில வர்ற மத்த பெயர்கள் எல்லாம் என்ன? “அபயா, அமரா” அப்படின்னா என்ன அர்த்தம்?
வேதாந்த்: “அதிகா”னா எல்லாத்தையும் விட மேலானவர். “அநகா”னா பாவமே இல்லாதவர். “அபயா”னா பயத்தைப் போக்குறவர். “அமரா”னா அழிவே இல்லாதவர். “பதிகா”னா இந்த உலகத்துக்கே தலைவன்.
அபூர்வா: சூப்பர்! அப்போ கடைசியா வர்ற “வலசூர பயங்கரனே” – அதுக்கு என்ன அர்த்தம்?
வேதாந்த்: சூரபத்மன் மாதிரி பலம் பொருந்திய அசுரர்களுக்கே ‘பயங்கரமா’ சிம்ம சொப்பனமா இருந்தவர்னு அர்த்தம். அதாவது, நம்ம வாழ்க்கையில இருக்குற பெரிய பிரச்சனைகளை முருகனால மட்டும் தான் தீர்க்க முடியும். ஏன்னா அவர் ‘சூப்பர்-பவர்’ (Super-power) உடையவர்!
அபூர்வா: புரியுது! இவ்வளவு பெயர்களைச் சொல்லி கூப்பிடும்போதே நமக்குள்ள ஒரு தனி தைரியம் வருது வேதாந்த். இது வெறும் பாட்டு இல்ல, ஒரு ‘எனர்ஜி பூஸ்டர்’ (Energy Booster)!
வேதாந்த்: இன்றைய Takeaway.
- காலத்தை வெல்லுதல்: இறைவன் பிறப்பு இறப்புக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டவர் என்று உணரும்போது, நமக்கும் இந்த நிலையற்ற வாழ்க்கையின் மீதான பயம் குறையும்.
- பயம் நீக்கும் அபயன்: முருகனை “அபயா” என்று அழைக்கும்போது, அவர் நம் கைகளைப் பிடித்துக் கொள்கிறார். நமக்குத் தீமை செய்யும் எண்ணங்களுக்கும், பயத்திற்கும் தான் அவர் “பயங்கரனே” தவிர, நமக்கு அவர் அன்பானவர்.
அபூர்வா: ஓகே வேதாந்த்! இனிமேல் எனக்கு ஏதாச்சும் பயம் வந்தா, “அபயா! பயங்கரனே!” அப்படின்னு முருகனை கூப்பிட ஆரம்பிச்சிடுறேன்.
வேதாந்த்: (சிரிக்கிறான்) கண்டிப்பா! அந்த தைரியம் தான் நமக்கு வேணும். நாளைக்கு 20-வது பாட்டு. சந்திப்போம்!

udhiyA mariyA uNaRa maRavA
vidhimAl aRiyA vimalan pudhalvA!
adhigA! anagA! abayA! amarA!
padhigA! valasUra! bayangaranE!
Vedaant: Look Apurva, today’s verse is a high-voltage sequence of names and attributes. Arunagirinathar is giving us a cosmic “contact list” for Muruga. But these aren’t just labels; each word represents a profound spiritual truth.
Apurva: It sounds like a superhero’s BGM (Background Music), Vedaant! Especially since it ends with “Bayangarane” (The Terrible One). Why is Muruga called “terrible”? I thought He was the handsome, compassionate God on a peacock?
Vedaant: (Laughs) He is “terrible”—but only to the demons and the fears inside our hearts! Look at how he starts: “Udhiyaa Mariyaa”. This means He has no birth (Udhithal) and no death (Marithal).
Apurva: No birth and no death? So you’re saying He exists completely outside the constraints of Time?
Vedaant: Exactly! He is “Unaraa Maravaa”—He doesn’t need to learn anything new, nor does He ever forget anything. He is the son of the “Vimalan” (the pure Lord Shiva), whom even Brahma (Vidhi) and Vishnu (Maal) couldn’t fully comprehend.
Apurva: That’s a heavy lineage! What about the other names like “Abhaya” and “Amara”?
Vedaant: “Adhika” means He is the Supreme over everything. “Anagha” means He is sinless and pure. “Abhaya” is the one who removes fear. “Amara” is the immortal one. “Pathika” means the Lord/Master of the entire universe.
Apurva: And what about that intense ending, “Valasoora Bayangarane”?
Vedaant: It means He was a terrifying nightmare to the mighty demon Soorapadman. Essentially, if you have a massive “demon” of a problem in your life, you call Him. He is the “Fear of Fear itself.”
Apurva: I get it now Vedaant! Chanting these names feels like a spiritual “Energy Booster.” It’s like reminding yourself that the power backing you up is indestructible and beyond everything we know.
Vedaant: Yes, the takeaway:
- Beyond Time: Understanding that the Divine has no birth or death (Udhiyaa Mariyaa) helps us realize that our core essence is also eternal. It shifts our perspective from temporary stress to eternal peace.
- Fear of Fear: Muruga is “Bayangaran” (Terrible) only to the darkness and ignorance within us. When you call upon the “Abhayan” (The Fearless One), you are invoking a shield that protects you from life’s anxieties.
