கந்தர் அனுபூதி – பாடல் 25 நாள் 25
கூர்வேல் விழி மங்கையர் கொங்கையிலே
சேர்வே னருள் சேரவும் எண்ணுமதோ!
சூர் வேரொடு குன்று தொளைத்த, நெடும்
போர்வேல புரந்தர பூபதியே.
வேதாந்த்: அபூர்வா, இன்னைக்கு பாட்டுல அருணகிரிநாதர் தன் மனசுக்குள்ள நடக்குற ஒரு பெரிய போராட்டத்தை அப்படியே ‘லைவ்’ (Live) ஆக சொல்றாரு. இது நம்ம எல்லாருக்குமே இருக்குற ஒரு பிரச்சனைதான்.
அபூர்வா: போராட்டமா? யாருக்கு யாருக்கு நடுவுல? மறுபடியும் முருகருக்கும் அசுரருக்கும் நடுவுலயா?
வேதாந்த்: இல்லடா, இது நமக்குள்ளேயே நடக்குற போராட்டம்! “கூர்வேல் விழி மங்கையர்… சேர்வேன், அருள் சேரவும் எண்ணும் அதோ” – அப்படின்னு சொல்றாரு. அதாவது, “என் மனசு ஒரு பக்கம் உலக ஆசைகள்லயும், சிற்றின்பங்கள்லயும் மூழ்க துடிக்குது; ஆனா இன்னொரு பக்கம் உன்னோட ‘அருள்’ வேணும்னு ஏங்குது” அப்படின்னு சொல்றாரு.
அபூர்வா: ஆமா வேதாந்த், இது நிஜமாவே ஒரு பெரிய ‘கன்பியூஷன்’ (Confusion) தான்! நமக்கு ஒரு பக்கம் ஜாலியா இருக்கணும்னு தோணுது, இன்னொரு பக்கம் நிம்மதியும் கடவுள் அருளும் வேணும்னு தோணுது. ரெண்டுக்கும் நடுவுல மனசு ஊசலாடுதுல?
வேதாந்த்: கரெக்ட்! “எண்ணும் அதோ” அப்படின்னு சொல்லும்போது, அந்த ஊசலாட்டத்தை அவர் கவனிக்குறாரு. இப்படி தத்தளிக்குற என் மனசை நீதான் உன் ‘வேல்’ கொண்டு சரி பண்ணனும்னு முருகனை வேண்டிக்கிறாரு. முருகனை எப்படி வர்ணிக்கிறாரு பாரு… “சூர் வேரொடு குன்று தொளைத்த நெடும் போர்வேல் புரந்தர பூபதியே!”
அபூர்வா: “சூர் வேரொடு” – அப்படின்னா சூரபத்மனை வேரோட அழிச்சதுன்னு அர்த்தமா?
வேதாந்த்: ஆமா! சூரபத்மன் அப்படிங்கிற அந்த ஆணவத்தை வேரோட பிடுங்கி எறிஞ்சவன், கிரௌஞ்ச மலையைத் துளைச்ச அந்தப் பெரிய ‘போர்வேல்’ வச்சிருக்கவன் நீ! தேவர்களின் தலைவனே! அப்படின்னு முருகனைப் புகழுறாரு.
அபூர்வா: புரியுது! அவ்வளவு பெரிய மலையையும் அசுரனையும் அழிச்ச அந்தப் பவர்ஃபுல் ‘வேல்’, என்னோட இந்த அற்பமான ஆசைகளையும் அழிச்சு, எனக்கு உன் அருளைத் தராதா? அப்படின்னு கேக்குறாரு.
வேதாந்த்: எக்ஸாக்ட்லி! வெளியில இருக்குற அசுரனை விட உள்ளே இருக்குற ஆசைங்கிற அசுரன் ரொம்ப பலமானவன். அவனை அழிக்க முருகனோட அந்த “நெடும் போர்வேல்” கண்டிப்பா வேணும்!
அபூர்வா: ஓகே வேதாந்த். இன்னைக்கு என்ன பாடம் ?
வேதாந்த்: Takeaway Today:
- மனதின் ஊசலாட்டம்: நம் மனசு ஆசைக்கும் அருளுக்கும் நடுவுல ஊசலாடுறது சகஜம் தான். அதை இறைவனிடம் ஒத்துக்கிட்டு, “நீதான் என்னை மாத்தணும்”னு கேக்குறது தான் உண்மையான பக்தி.
- வேல் எனும் அறிவு: வெளியில இருக்குற தடைகளை விட, நம்ம மனசுக்குள்ள இருக்குற ஆசைகளை அழிக்கத் தான் முருகனோட வேல் அதிகம் தேவைப்படுது.
அபூர்வா: ஓகே வேதாந்த்! இனிமேல் என் மனசு கண்டபடி அலைபாயும்போது, அந்த ‘போர்வேல்’ முருகனை நினைச்சுக்கிறேன். மலையவே ஓட்டை போட்ட வேலுக்கு என் மனசைச் சரி பண்றது மேட்டரே இல்ல!
வேதாந்த்: (சிரிக்கிறான்) கரெக்ட்! அந்த நம்பிக்கை இருந்தா போதும். நாளைக்கு 26-வது பாட்டுல சந்திப்போம்!!

Vedaant: Apurva, today’s verse is very honest. Arunagirinathar describes the “live” battle happening inside his own mind. It’s a struggle we all face every single day.
Apurva: A battle? Between who? Is it Muruga fighting another demon?
Vedaant: No, it’s a battle between two versions of himself! He says: “Manggaiyar… serven, arul seravum ennum adho”. He admits, “On one hand, my mind is pulled toward worldly attractions and sensory pleasures; but on the other hand, it longs for Your Divine Grace.”
Apurva: Wow, that is so relatable, Vedaant. It’s like having two browser tabs open at the same time—one for entertainment and one for serious growth. The mind just keeps oscillating between the two!
Vedaant: Exactly! When he says “Ennum adho” (Look at that thought!), he is observing his own mind’s wavering nature. He turns to Muruga and says, “O King of the Heavens, You who hold the mighty Battle-Spear (Nedum Porvel) that pierced through the Krauncha Mountain and destroyed the demon Sooran from his very roots!”
Apurva: So he’s using Muruga’s greatest military achievements as a metaphor for his internal struggle?
Vedaant: Yes! He’s saying, “If Your Spear is powerful enough to shatter a literal mountain and uproot a cosmic demon, surely it is powerful enough to pierce through my stubborn desires and root out my confusion.”
Apurva: I get it. He’s asking for that “Spear of Wisdom” to settle the debate in his heart and tilt the scales toward Grace.
Vedaant: Takeaway:
- The Honest Confession: True devotion starts with being honest about our distractions. Instead of pretending to be perfect, tell God, “My mind is wandering toward worldly things—please pull me back toward You.”
- Uprooting Desires: Muruga’s Spear isn’t just for killing demons in stories; it’s a tool for spiritual surgery. We need that “Battle-Spear” of focus to root out the deep-seated cravings that block our peace.
Apurva: Got it, Vedaant! Next time my mind starts scrolling through “worldly distractions,” I’ll call for the Porvel (Battle-Spear). If it can put a hole in a mountain, it can definitely fix my attention span!
