கந்தர் அனுபூதி – பாடல் 18 நாள் 18
யாம்ஓதிய கல்வியும் எம் அறிவும்
தாமேபெற வேலவர் தந்ததனால்
பூமேல் மயல்போய் அறம் மெய்ப்புணர்வீர்
நாமேல் நடவீர் நடவீர் இனியே!
வேதாந்த்: அபூர்வா, நேத்து பாட்டுல அருணகிரிநாதர் “எனக்கு ஏன் இவ்வளவு பேராசை?”ன்னு வருத்தப்பட்டார்ல? இன்னைக்கு அதுக்கு ஒரு அழகான தீர்வு சொல்றார். “யாம் ஓதிய கல்வியும் எம் அறிவும்” – நாம படிச்ச படிப்பும், நம்ம புத்தியும் நமக்கே சொந்தம்னு நினைச்சோம்னா அதுதான் பேராசைக்கு ஆரம்பம்.
அபூர்வா: ஆமா வேதாந்த், “நான்தான் படிச்சேன், எனக்கெல்லாம் தெரியும்”னு நினைக்கிறப்போதானே அந்த ஈகோ (Ego) வருது. ஆனா அதுக்கும் முருகனுக்கும் என்ன சம்பந்தம்?
வேதாந்த்: அதுதான் இங்க ரகசியம்! அருணகிரிநாதர் சொல்றார், “தாமே பெற வேலவர் தந்ததனால்” – அதாவது இந்த அறிவை அவரே (முருகன்) என்கிட்ட இருந்து திரும்ப வாங்கிட்டாரு! அப்படி அவர் வாங்கிக்கிட்ட உடனே, உலகத்துல இருக்குற மாயை எல்லாம் ஓடிப் போயிருச்சாம்.
அபூர்வா: என்னது? அறிவை தொலைச்சா மாயை போகுமா? அறிவு இருந்தாதானே எது உண்மை, எது பொய்னு தெரியும்?
வேதாந்த்: நாம வச்சிருக்கிறது ‘அரைகுறை அறிவு’ அபூர்வா. அந்த அறிவை நாம முருகன்கிட்ட ஒப்படைச்சிட்டா, அவர் நமக்கு ‘மெய்ஞானத்தை’ கொடுப்பார். அது கிடைச்ச உடனே “பூமேல் மயல் போய்” – இந்த உலகத்து மேல இருக்குற வீண் ஆசைகள் மறைஞ்சுடும்.
அபூர்வா: ஓ! அப்போ நாம படிச்சது எல்லாம் வேஸ்ட் இல்ல, ஆனா அதை முருகனோட பிரசாதமா நினைக்கணும், அப்படித்தானே?
வேதாந்த்: கரெக்ட்! அதனாலதான் அவர் கடைசியா ஒரு கட்டளை போடுறார் – “நாமேல் நடவீர்” அப்படின்னா, முருகனோட நாமத்தை (பெயரை) எப்போதும் உங்க நாக்குல சொல்லிக்கிட்டே இருங்கன்னு அர்த்தம்.
அபூர்வா: சூப்பர் வேதாந்த்! “நடவீர் நடவீர்”னு ரெண்டு வாட்டி சொல்றாரே, அவ்வளவு அவசரமா?
வேதாந்த்: ஆமா! காலம் ஓடிக்கிட்டே இருக்கு, அதனால யோசிக்காம உடனே முருகனைப் பாட ஆரம்பிங்கன்னு நம்மள உற்சாகப்படுத்துறார்!
அபூர்வா: அப்படினா, இன்னைக்கான Takeaway ?
வேதாந்த்: இதோ இன்னைக்கான Takeaway:
1.அறிவு ஒரு கருவி: நம்ம கல்வி அறிவு ஒரு ஏணி மாதிரி. அது மேல ஏறி இறைவனைத் தொட்டதுக்கப்புறம் ஏணியைப் பிடிச்சுக்கிட்டே நிக்காம, அவன் பாதத்துல சரணடையணும்.
2.நாம சங்கீர்த்தனம்: உலக ஆசைகள் விலகணும்னா, நாக்குல எப்போதும் இறைவனோட நாமம் இருக்கணும். அதுதான் ‘நாமேல் நடவீர்’.
அபூர்வா: ஓகே வேதாந்த்! இன்னைலேருந்து என் நாக்குல ‘முருகா’ங்கிற பேருதான் ‘நடக்கும்’!
வேதாந்த்: (சிரிக்கிறான்) ஆமா! அந்தப் பேரைச் சொல்லச் சொல்ல வாழ்க்கை இன்னும் அழகா நடக்கும்! நாளைக்கு 19-வது பாட்டுல சந்திப்போம்!

Vedaant: Hello Apurva, remember how in yesterday’s verse Arunagirinathar was lamenting, “Why do I have so much greed?” Well, today he offers a beautiful solution. He says, “Yaam odhiya kalviyum em arivum”—the education we’ve attained and the intellect we possess. If we think these belong solely to us, that is where greed begins.
Apurva: True, Vedaant. That ego kicks in the moment we think, “I studied this, I know everything.” But what does Lord Murugan have to do with this?
Vedaant: That’s the secret! Arunagirinathar says, “Thaamae pera Velavar thandadhanaal”—meaning, the Lord (Murugan) took that intellectual knowledge away from me! The moment He took it back, all the illusions (Maya) of this world simply vanished.
Apurva: Wait, what? If you lose your intellect, how does illusion disappear? Don’t we need our intellect to distinguish between what is real and what is fake?
Vedaant: What we have is ‘limited knowledge,’ Apurva. When we surrender that limited intellect to Murugan, He grants us ‘True Wisdom’ (Meignanam). Once you receive that, “Poomel mayal poy”—all those vain desires for worldly things fade away.
Apurva: Oh! So it’s not that our education is a waste, but rather that we should view it as a gift or Prasadam from the Divine?
Vedaant: Exactly! That’s why he ends with a command: “Naamel nadaveer.” It means, “Let the name of Murugan always ‘walk’ (stay) upon your tongue.”
Apurva: Superb, Vedaant! But he says “Nadaveer, Nadaveer” twice—is there such a big hurry?
Vedaant: Yes! Time is slipping away, so he is encouraging us to start chanting and singing His praises immediately without overthinking it.
Apurva: So, what is today’s Takeaway?
Vedaant: Here they are:
- Knowledge is a Tool: Our education is like a ladder. Use it to reach the Divine, but don’t keep clinging to the ladder once you are there; surrender at His feet instead.
- The Power of the Name: To distance yourself from worldly illusions, keep the Divine name on your tongue constantly. That is the essence of “Naamel nadaveer.”
Apurva: Got it, Vedaant! I’m going to stop the “Gossip” on my tongue and let Muruga’s name take the stage for a dance instead!
Vedaant: (Laughs) If you do that, enlightenment is guaranteed! See you tomorrow for Verse 19!
